Risk disclosure statement
Before using RiseUp, understand the risks of startup fundraising, private investments and business transactions.
RiseUp is a technology platform that facilitates introductions, communication, and collaboration between founders and investors.
RiseUp is not a bank, broker, dealer, investment adviser, fund manager, crowdfunding intermediary, financial institution, or securities exchange.
No guarantee of funding
Using RiseUp does not guarantee:
- Investment funding
- Investor interest, introductions or replies
- Successful fundraising
- Business growth
- Business profitability
- Future business success
All fundraising outcomes depend entirely on the participating parties.
Investment risk
Investing in startups and private businesses involves significant risk.
Investors may lose part or all of their invested capital.
Past business performance, projections, match scores, Assistant output or market information do not guarantee future results.
What a check does not prove
The Verified tick means our team checked a company's pitch deck, trade licence, RJSC registration certificate and a recent bank statement. It does not confirm a founder's figures, forecasts or claims, and it does not say that an investment is safe.
Investor verification confirms who the investor is. It does not show that the investor can afford to invest.
Assistant risk disclosure
RiseUp Engine, shown in the product as the Assistant, may produce:
- Business reports for investors, with strengths, weaknesses and possible scenarios
- Listing feedback and pitch packs for founders
- Deal-room advice and draft messages
- Suggestions based on the preferences an investor has set
Match scores are different: they come from four fixed rules (industry, investment range, location and stage), not from a model.
Assistant output is generated automatically from the details on a listing and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, assumptions, or limitations. It is decision support. It does not predict returns or recommend investments.
It is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice.
Independent due diligence
All users must conduct their own due diligence before entering into any investment discussion, agreement, or transaction.
Users should seek advice from qualified legal, financial, tax, and investment professionals where appropriate.
Limitation of liability
RiseUp shall not be liable for:
- Investment losses
- Failed fundraising efforts
- Business losses
- Misrepresentations by users
- Missed opportunities
- Indirect or consequential damages
Any investment relationship established through the platform is solely between the relevant parties.
