1. About this policy
RiseUp (riseup.fund) is a platform where founders in Bangladesh apply to be listed and investors look at listed companies. This policy says what we collect about you, why we collect it, who can see it and how to ask us to change or delete it.
- Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
When you create an account you accept this policy and our Terms and conditions.
2. What we collect
About you
- Name, email address and phone number
- Profile photo, if you add one
- Date of birth and address (founders add these in their profile before a listing goes to review)
- Occupation and investment preferences, for investors: industries, ticket size, stage and location
- For investors, the ID document you email us for verification, and our notes from the short verification call and checklist
- Messages you send to our team from the Help page
About your company (founders)
- Company details: name, industry, stage, location, description, the amount you want to raise and the equity you offer
- Financial figures you choose to enter, such as revenue and monthly costs
- Your pitch deck
- Your trade licence
- Your RJSC registration certificate
- A recent bank statement
Deals and activity
- Companies you save and deal rooms you open
- Messages and files you send in a deal room
- Your acceptance of the Investor NDA: the name you typed, the time and your IP address
- Assistant requests and the results saved for you
Technical data
- IP address, browser and device type, and sign-in activity, used for security and to limit abuse
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in
- Simple counts of visits and sign-up steps, if we have switched on privacy-friendly analytics. These counts do not hold names, emails, phone numbers or company details.
3. How we use it
- Create and run your account
- Review listings and check the documents behind the Verified tick
- Verify investors by hand before they can open deal rooms
- Calculate match scores with fixed rules: industry, investment range, location and stage. A model does not rank businesses.
- Run private deal rooms for messages and files
- Produce assistant output when you ask for it (see section 5)
- Keep the platform secure and prevent fraud and abuse
- Answer your questions and requests
- Meet our legal duties
4. Who can see what
- A listing shows a public company summary. The raise size and equity are visible only to verified investors, to the founder who owns the listing and to our team.
- Your documents are not public. They stay locked until a verified investor signs the Investor NDA.
- Deal-room messages and files are visible to the two sides of that deal room.
- Our team can see account details, listings and documents so that we can review, verify and give support.
We do not sell personal data or private company data.
5. The assistant and our AI service provider
RiseUp Engine, which appears in the product as the Assistant, is decision support. It does not predict returns, pick winners or give investment advice. People make every decision.
When you ask the Assistant for a business report, listing feedback, a pitch pack or deal-room advice, some of your details are sent to an AI service provider outside Bangladesh, under contract, to produce the result. These are the listing details, your stated investment preferences and, for deal-room advice, recent messages in that deal room. The Assistant reads listing details. It does not read uploaded files such as your pitch deck or bank statement.
6. Who else receives it
- Other users, as set out in section 4
- Service providers that host our systems and send our emails
- The AI service provider described in section 5
- Authorities, when the law requires it
- Others, when needed to protect the security of the platform and its users
7. Security and keeping data
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the purposes above, to meet legal duties, to settle disputes and to enforce our agreements.
8. Your rights and how to use them
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and files. Write to the email address below from the email address on your account.
Our team handles these requests by hand. There is no self-service export or delete button yet. We may keep information we must keep by law or need to settle a dispute, such as the record of a signed Investor NDA.
9. Links to other sites
RiseUp may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
